Why Cain?

I first came a cross this poem, written in 1821, in Ravena, by the English poet George Gordon Byron, commonly known as Lord Byron, when I finished my studies at the Escola Técnica de Teatro Martins Pena ( School of Acting Technique Martins Pena) in Rio in 2004. I was invited by one of the teachers of the school to join in a project of his theatre company. The company intended to produce a play based on the dramatic poem Cain, a Mystery. At that time, September 11 still ecoed and there for the director's ideia was to evoke the ancient murderer to dialogue on the nature of violence, the violence produced by man against his own kind. We started the investigation. My task was to search about the sacred, a subject precious to me. Unfortunately the project was not carried out.
Years have passed, I have taken other courses in life, but the spark that once aroused in me the wish to know and understand matters that have since then troubled me, has now become a warm blaze that I intend to keep alive. I have worked and deepened my studies in English and now I wish to come back to this piece of art to investigate it in another perspective.
